Maple Apple Cobbler-Pie

1 frozen pie shell
2 Tbsp + 1 Tbsp maple syrup
1/6 c sugar
1/4 c flour
Dash salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
5 golden delicious apples

For topping
1 stick butter
1 c flour
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c oats

Brush 1 Tbsp of maple syrup all along thawed pie shell. Prepare pie shell as directed (usually, bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes).

While the pie shell is baking, mix sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl. Peel and core apples, then cut into medium sized slices. Toss the apples in the sugar/flour mixture. Set aside.

Prepare topping by melting butter with flour, brown sugar and oats. Combine well.

Remove the pie shell from the oven and let cool. While it's cooling, pour 2 Tbsp maple syrup over apples and mix well. Pour apple mixture into cooled pie shell. Add topping over the apples and pack well, completely covering the apples.

Set pie tin on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Serve warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
